Who we are
The Millionaire in Training (M.I.T) Project is a Tax Exempt 501(c)3 nonprofit organization under the IRS dedicated to equipping youth and underserved communities with the financial knowledge, discipline, and economic tools needed to build wealth, achieve financial independence, and break generational cycles of poverty.
We believe financial education is one of the most powerful tools for personal transformation and community development. Our mission is to ensure individuals and families understand the principles of money, credit, ownership, and wealth-building so they can fully participate in the opportunities available in a free-enterprise economy.
Our philosophy is captured in the words of civil rights leader Andrew Young:
"To live in a system of free enterprise and not understand the rules of free enterprise must be the very definition of slavery."
The M.I.T Project exists to make sure the next generation understands those rules.
Through practical education, mentorship, and real-world financial experiences, we help participants move from financial survival to financial stability—and ultimately toward generational wealth.
Our Initiative:
M.I.T Scholar Program
The M.I.T Scholar Program is our flagship youth development initiative designed to mentor young people and young adults as they prepare for adulthood and financial independence.
Thrive & Build Initiative
The Thrive & Build Initiative is our community-based financial literacy and economic mobility program designed to help individuals, families, and small businesses strengthen their financial futures.
Through workshops, coaching, and practical financial education, participants gain the tools needed to move from financial survival to long-term financial stability.
The initiative also provides financial coaching and CFO-style guidance for entrepreneurs and small business owners, helping them develop stronger budgeting systems, financial strategies, and sustainable growth plans.
In addition, the M.I.T. Project is developing an Ethical Microloan component to expand financial opportunity for individuals who face barriers to traditional banking and lending.
This program combines financial education with responsible access to small-dollar capital, helping participants address immediate financial needs while building healthier financial habits.
